Get Your Belongings Back, Not Just a Check

CRDN North Central Ohio restores the clothes, electronics, furniture, and keepsakes inside your home after fire, smoke, or water damage, so families in Akron and across North Central Ohio get their own things back.

CRDN North Central Ohio exists for one job: saving what's inside your home after a fire, flood, or smoke damage. Your clothes, bedding, electronics, furniture, and keepsakes are what we restore.

Owners Jeff Sitz and Brian Rick run our team from Copley Road in Akron, and both trained at CRDN University in Berkley, Michigan, where every CRDN franchise learns the network's textile restoration process. Our claim specialists help you file and then work alongside your insurance company. Every item we take goes on a detailed inventory, so you always know where your belongings are and your claim has a clear record.

Instead of watching your life go to the curb in trash bags, you get your own things back. Restoring rather than replacing keeps replacement costs down and helps limit how long, and how expensively, you live away from home.

Why One Leak Can Soak Years of Belongings in an Akron Home

About a third of Akron's homes were built before 1940. In older houses like these, the basement is often where the water heater sits and where boxes of clothes, linens, and keepsakes get stored. When a tank fails or a pipe bursts, it can soak years of belongings at once, and those soft goods are exactly what we restore.

Textile Restoration

Smoke works its way into every fiber of your clothes, bedding, and drapes, and the smell follows you long after the fire is out. CRDN began as a network of restoration drycleaners, so fabrics are still the heart of what we do. We clean and deodorize your textiles so you can wear and use them again instead of replacing a houseful.

Electronics Restoration

Too often, a TV, laptop, or gaming system gets tossed after a fire simply because it is coated in soot. Soot and moisture keep working on the inside of a device, and a quick wipe-down does not stop it. We clean smoke and water damaged electronics properly, so you can often keep the equipment you already own.

Contents Restoration

Every item that leaves your home goes on a detailed inventory before it goes anywhere, so you and your adjuster know exactly where your things are. Your furniture, decor, and household belongings are cleaned and restored, then returned once your home is ready to live in again.

Debris Removal and Trashouts

Every damaged item thrown out without a record is money your claim may never cover. Our trashout service removes what cannot be saved and documents it as it goes, so your adjuster has the record and you are spared one of the hardest jobs after a loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does homeowners insurance cover contents restoration?

In most cases, yes, if your policy includes personal property coverage. Restoring your belongings usually costs less than replacing them, which is a big reason insurers support it. Our claim specialists help you file, and we work directly with your adjuster, keeping a detailed inventory of everything we handle so your claim has a clear record. Coverage limits and deductibles vary, so check your own policy for the details.

Can clothes really be saved after smoke damage?

Often, yes, even when they smell unwearable. CRDN started as a drycleaning business in metro Detroit, and textile restoration is still the core of what we do. Smoke odor and soot can usually be cleaned out of clothing, bedding, and drapes with the right process. You'll know which items can be restored and which can't, so nothing gets thrown out that could have been saved.

What happens to my belongings after you take them?

Each item is logged on a detailed inventory before it leaves your home. Your belongings are then cleaned, restored, and stored securely while your home is being repaired. Once the house is ready, everything comes back to you. Because you and your adjuster can see exactly what was taken, you're never left wondering where your things are.

How long until I get my belongings back?

It depends on how much was damaged and how much needs cleaning. Recent customers have gotten their things back in anywhere from about two weeks to a month. When your belongings return, clothes come either folded in labeled boxes or hung in plastic, so putting your home back together is simple.

What happens to the things that can't be saved?

Items too damaged to restore are removed as part of our trashout service, and each one is documented as it goes. That record matters, because your insurance company needs proof of what was lost before it can reimburse you. You don't have to haul ruined belongings to the curb yourself or try to remember everything that was thrown away.

What areas do you serve?

We're based at 1477 Copley Road in Akron and work with homeowners across North Central Ohio. Our team is available 24 hours a day, because fire and water damage don't keep business hours. We're also part of CRDN, a network of more than 150 locations, so if your home is outside our territory, there is likely a CRDN team close to you.
